Bantry House opened its doors on the evening of Saturday 24th October for a fundraising event in aid of Bantry Hospice. Open fires and lots of candles created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests were treated to background music in the Library before being entertained by Barbershop Choir "Mary & the Blow-Ins". Cocktails and nibbles were served throughout the evening. It was a huge success, raising over €2,800 on the night. A wonderful evening was had by all who attended and we hope that it will be the first of many fundraising nights! Bantry House would like to thank all those who supported and sponsored this event.

Phase 1 of the restoration of the Loggia overlooking the sunken garden, and also the skylight above the stairs in the house have been completed.
A grant was given by the Heritage Council for this, with supervision by Paul Arnold of Paul Arnold Architects, Dublin, and the building works were undertaken by local Bantry builder Aiden McCarthy. http://paularnoldarchitects.com/
